Surathkal cops solve murder case, 1 held

Mangalore , Saturday, July 31, 2010 : Surathkal police have cracked the murder case of a youth whose dead body was found at a house in Delanthabettu, Surinje near Surathkal, last Friday. The police arrested Sandeep Shetty (30) in this regard.

Dead body of Vinay Kumar Shetty (35), son of Narayana Shetty was found at his own residence. The hands and legs of the dead body were tied up. Police registered a case as there were hints of assault on the body. On investigation, police arrested Sandeep on Wednesday.

The investigation has revealed that the deceased was addicted to liquor and he used to create havoc in the house after getting drunk. On Friday, Vinay has come home drunk and picked a fight. When the argument turned violent Sandeep, who is the nephew of the deceased assaulted him with a wooden club which killed Vinay. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.
