Mangalore ,  Thursday, January 28, 2010 :  Very soon in the near future Mangalore city too like Dubai, will be having its very own tallest ''Burj Khalifa '' building, which recently had opened amidst great fanfare. The city will be able to brag of having the state''s tallest residential building which will be coming up at Kadri.

Shashi Kiran Shetty Chairman and Managing Director of Allcargo Global Logistics Ltd., and renowned architect Sanath Kumar Shetty in collaboration, will be constructing 125 meters tall premium residential apartments, having 38 stories near Karnataka Polytechnic at Kadri. The building once completed will be the tallest residential building in Karnataka.

Sanath Kumar Shetty in a news briefing giving details informed that the proposed building will incorporate intelligent building technology, having 200 hundred luxury apartments; each apartment having a minimum floor area of 3000 sq. ft The building will have three level basements where about 350 cars could be parked. The building will be spread over an area of 4.25 acres, with the building complex occupying only 9% of the total area. The total built-up area will be 6 lakh sq.ft, he added.

The proposed building includes amenities like swimming pools, waterfalls, putting area for golf, tennis and badminton courts. The building will be equipped with seven high speed elevators. It is proposed to have a helipad atop the building. According to Sanath Shetty details of the price per sqft rate and a scheme to avoid the monthly maintenance charges by collecting a one-time deposit are being worked out.

Further Shetty informed that the necessary clearance from various authorities are already in place. In-fact the building is being built according to the National Building Code of India, and has already received a ''No-Objection Certificate'' (NOC) from the fire department. The construction of the building will begin soon and is scheduled to be completed in about 40 months from the date of commencement.

It may be noted that this project is lagging behind just three floors, from the 40-storey residential building by Choice Group, in Kochi, and five more than Tata Aquila Heights at Bangalore and 13 more than Bearys Habitat. Presently as most may be aware the Burj Khalifa-Dubai is the tallest man made structure (828 meters height) ever built , which was was officially opened on 4th Jan-2010.
