Transglobal Beneficial president Dr Ravi Halekote said, "The card allows NRIs to monitor the funds that are sent home for healthcare purposes." According to a World Bank Report, only 5 per cent of $29 Billion NRI remittances are channeled towards healthcare costs for often the money sent goes redirected for unintended purposes. |

Mangalorean connection
Dr Ravi came up with the idea of launching IHC as a result of years of close observation of health issues and health sector in India and changes that have taken place in recent times. Ravi grew up and was educated in Mangalore, thus spending considerable time in Mangalore. As the card is especially aimed at NRI population, this comes as a good news for the relatives, particularly the aged parents and friends of NRIs from Mangalore region as well.
