Anything under the sun including sun "can precipitate an attack but cant person has his own triggering factor"
Migrant can be treated with oral medication and try to avoid certain triggering factors which can precipitate an attack of migraine like lack or excess of sleep, stress, cheese, caffeine alcohol, chocolate,
Citrus fruits. this may vary from person to person.
consult a neurologist who can start you on appropriate medications. At our hospital we have Dr. Z.K. Misri (MD,DM, NEUROLOGIST) FOR further advice.

I have pinching or pricking type of pain in the neck and shoulder area only on the LEFT side, starting from the back of the head-shoulder joint-elbow. Pain has never extended beyond the elbow. Started six months ago. There is also increase in pain through the months since the start. I am inactive most during the day only walk inside the house and donot involve in any excercise. There is slight reduction in pain if i do involve in walking or work. I feel that the pain is only in ONE of the above mentioned areas and not all places at a time. I have experimented while sleeping through the months and found that I have less pain while sleeping with my left shoulder down on the mattress and fall asleep. Sleeping on the back or turning to the right is painful and i can't fall asleep. I never spend more than 1-and-a-half hours at my computer everyday. I am sure that i have not sustained any physical injuries in the area I am 61, weigh 90kgs (198 lbs), 5ft 8 in (173 cms) tall, heavy built man. I'm not diabetic and recent ECG results have shown that my heart is in very good condition.
My past medical history includes a sucessful lamenectomy ( or laminectomy) surgery in the lumbar spine area 5 years ago. I have completely recovered from the same.
I have furnished the best details i know about my problem.
Please help me and give me advice.

The Complaint which you have described point towards a possible Neurolgic Nature of Pain. The Nerves to the Upper Limb arise in the Neck and travel down across the Shoulder towards the Elbow . The most likely reason to the pain you have described is the Irritation of these Nerves in the Neck.
You have not mentioned the reason for undergoing lumbar laminectomy. However, considering that you are 90kgs, 5ft 8 inc , 61yrs old , you possibly would be suffering from CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS or INTERVERTEBRAL Disc Disease which are the most common cause of such pain at your age, other causes of such pain cannot be ruled out before a thorough evaluation.
I would strongly advice you to see an Othopaedic Surgeon at the earliest and confirm the cause for your complaints. You will need to examined thoroughly and will have to undergo some tests including X-Rays and possibly an MRI scan.

Every night i go to bed sleep for 6-8 hrs a night and i wake up worse why how can i get a good night rest without pills?

* Turn off all of the lights in your house/room before you go to sleep. I have found that they less light there is, the better I sleep. Even if it is just a nightlight, it may be interfering with your sleep patterns.
* Don't eat/drink anything before you sleep. Try not to eat anything at least an hour before you sleep.
* Find a good mattress. Don't put it off, it may be time to get a new one.
* Try different positions to sleep in. If you normally sleep on your right side, try your left or your back. Just switch it up.
* If none of these work I recommend seeing a doctor.

Can I stop hair loss??? And make hair thick by Yoga, I tried by medicine but result are zero. I want my hair thick and strong.
-

coimbatore
|
If you ask me this question' my answer is Big NO. Hair loss is permanent. It is mainly Genetic. The only way you can get hair back is by Hair Transplantation, which is bit expensive and painful Too. Of course you will loose them after some time (5- 8 yrs). My suggestion is. Do not worry about it. Just be happy with what ever that you have.

Everyone needs protection from diphtheria. If you have not had a booster shot in 10 years or more -- or never had the initial 3-shot series -- you should be vaccinated.

What home treatments are available for chickenpox?
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
Parents can do several things at home to help relieve their child’s chickenpox symptoms. Because scratching the blisters may cause them to become infected, keep your child’s fingernails trimmed short. Calamine lotion and Aveeno baths may help relieve some of the itching. Do not use aspirin or aspirin-containing products to relieve your child's fever. The use of aspirin in children with chickenpox has been associated with development of Reye’s syndrome (a severe disease affecting all organs, but most seriously affecting the liver and brain, that may cause death). Use non-aspirin medications such as acetaminophen.

I have hair on my upper lip. Is there a way to get rid of it permanently? I wax my upper lip but it's annoying to have to keep doing it.
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
The only way to permanently eliminate unwanted hair is a process called electrolysis. Electrolysis is performed by inserting a tiny needle into the hair follicle and using an electric current to kill the hair root. Electrolysis can be expensive, painful, and even time consuming: Removing upper lip hair may take a total of 4 to 10 hours over several visits.

No, the immune system makes antibodies against a germ, like the chickenpox virus, whether it encounters it naturally or is exposed to it through a vaccine.

If you still have some hair left, hair transplantation can be performed. I would suggest that you visit with a large company that specializes in such procedures such as the Bosley group. They have a web site and, likely, a physician near you who can tell you if they can be of help with your problem.

I've had extremely dry lips for about 7 years now. What I mean by extremely is that my lips are ALWAYS extremely dry (although in cold weather my lips can get "beyond" extremely dry). I've heard that maybe I'm lacking vitamin B (in particular riboflavin-B2). If I start taking vitamin B2 supplements, will my dry lips go away?
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
There is not a single nutrient related to dry skin or lips. However, a multiple vitamin is a good insurance as well as an extra 400 units of Vitamin E per day. You may also want to break open a vitamin E capsule and apply it directly to your lips. Hope this helps.

I have a raised mole on my forhead above the bridge of my nose. I would like to get it removed, but everyone says it will leave a scar. Would the scar be as noticable then a large brown bump on my forehead?
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
The scar will be a fine white line and may fall within other lines in that area. It will, however, be a scar and not a "natural" lesion. It will be flat and can be hidden with makeup if so desired.

15.
I have moles on the face. Is it possible to have them removed and not have scars?
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
If they are true moles, the answer to your question is no. They have a root and unless this is removed, they will recur. If they are removed adequately by laser or surgery, a scar will result. I have found that, on the face, it is better to surgically remove the moles since the scars are better, finer, etc. when the procedure is performed surgically.

I have a brown birthmark about the size of a half dollar on my upper leg. It's not bubbled out just darker pigmented skin. I was wondering if I could ever get it removed or am I stuck with it for the rest of my life????
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
A pigmented birthmark can be a number of different congenital lesions, but, the good news is, most can be treated with laser pigment removal. I would suggest either a Q-switched ruby or Q-switched Alexandrite laser may be the most useful in your treatment. Count on a number of treatments for complete removal with, perhaps, some lightening of the skin in the area as a trade-off for getting rid of the lesion. Visit with a laser surgeon in your area - preferably one that is board-certified in laser surgery by the American Board of Laser Surgery or one that is, at least, a member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.

How to remove bags beneath the eyes?
-
a.,
coimbatore

The bags are removed through a procedure called lower eyelid blepharoplasty where the fat that is spilling over the rim of the orbit (where your eye sits) is removed, the ligaments holding the lower eyelid in place are tightened and the excess skin is removed either directly or tightened with laser resurfacing.

What should I look for in mouthwash? Ashmitha, Mangalore
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
If you are cavity-prone, fluoride rinses may be a good option for you. These types of anti-cavity rinses coat the teeth with a protective film that strengthens tooth enamel, making it more resistant to decay. Many cities fluoridate their water, so if you're a tap water drinker chances are you're getting adequate fluoride on your teeth already. However, those who drink bottled or filtered water may want to add a fluoride rinse to their routine. Fluoride has to remain on your teeth for about a half an hour to work, so if you're going to use this kind, swish for a full minute and don't eat or drink for a while afterward. No matter which type of mouthwash you choose, make sure to follow the instructions on the
bottle.

How to cure gas pain? Reena, Banagalore
-
a.,
coimbatore
|
Eat in an environment where you can be relaxed to help reduce flatulence & burping. Chew slowly and thoroughly. Gas can be a sign of undigested food. Take a short walk after eating to prevent gas from accumulating and can help stimulate the passage of gas through the digestive tract. Avoid common food sources of gas including artificial sweeteners, carbonated beverages, alcohol, sugar-free candies or chewing gum, and dairy products. Also, (due to their fiber content) foods like Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, artichokes, asparagus, prunes, bran cereals or muffins, and whole-wheat bread can also cause gas.

I am 48 years old. I was playing indoor shuttle badminton some 12 years back. Recently I started playing again and within a month I experienced severe pain in my hand. I showed it to doctors at Fr.Mullers Hopital, Mangalore who said it is tennis elbow.
I wish to know whether this is curable; what kind of medicines and exercises are required; how one should play if permitted.
Thank u

• If the symptom of pain around elbow more on outer side, diagnosis of tennis elbow is more likely.
• It usually starts following forceful unaccustomed action leading to upward movement of wrist, internal rotation of forearm.
• These actions are commonly seen in tennis players, cloth-washing women (who squeeze cloth to drain out water) etc.
• Treatment is usually simple, even though surgery may be advocated in active sportsmen whose demands are very high in short time.
• For you looking at the age, your daily needs, my advice will be to-
1. Avoid sports for a week to ten days
2. Start anti inflammatory drugs like tab Lyser D 1-0-1 for ten days after food
3. Once you feel pain is sufficiently under control, then gradually start your sports activities.
• Usually it may take 3 weeks to 8 weeks to settle down.
